Bummed. . .

This weekend is McMurry homecoming. I'm not there. I'm bummed.

Obviously, one week before the birth of my child is not a good time to be away from home and there are plenty of things here that need doing in order to get ready but still, I wish I were there. This is the 2nd year in a row I've missed. Last year I had class on homecoming weekend.

A few of my friends who I haven't seen in several years are going to be there this year. Also, it's a big anniversary year for my sorrority and they're having a big get together this evening.

So, to my friends, my sisters, whom I love, I hope you're having a good time. Give each other hugs from me. Take lots of pictures. Call me when you get home. Oh, and don't forget to miss me!!

All is well

Sorry to be posting so late. I know many of you have been awaiting word about what the doctor had to say today. Well, obviously, since I'm posting, I'm home and baby and I are both just fine. I would have posted sooner but I had a band concert tonight.

Went this afternoon for a sonogram and the doc said that my fluid levels were just fine and she'd see me at my regular appointment next week. So, all is good on the baby front and we're still on for 6am on October 23.

Now, for some reason, I feel compelled to tell you all the STUPID thing I did after leaving the doctors office today. While I was there the nurse wrote me a couple of prescriptions for this nasty upper respritory stuff I've had for the last few days. I had to stop and get gas on the way home and decided to throw away some trash that was in my jeep and, like a complete and total idiot, threw away both of the prescriptions before getting them to the pharmacy. Wow, did I feel like a real moron when I pulled up to the drive thru window at Walgreen's and went to pick up the prescriptions from the passenger seat and there was nothing there. So, I'll be calling the doctor's office in the morning, telling sweet Nurse Sandy what an idiot I am and asking her to call those scrips into my pharmacy.

People told me pregnancy would make me forgetful, they never told me it would also make me a complete moron!

Baby Update

I saw both of my doctors today, my endocrinologist and my OB. My endocrinologist says all is well. He wants to see me back two weeks after delivery. The OB was a little more interesting however. I've been having sonograms every week for the last several weeks. They've been doing a biophysical profile to check the amount of fluid surrounding the baby, breathing movements, limb extension, and gross motor movemement. Well so far, we've (William and I) have gotten full marks on all 4 items. Today, the fluid was on the low end of normal. So I was instructed to consume as much fluid as possible and go back for another sonogram at 3:15 tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully the fluid will be back in a good range. If it's about the same I'll have to go back for sonograms 2 times a week from now on instead of one. If it's below the normal range at any point in time, the likely hood is that they will go ahead and induce at that time. So, we'll see what the sonogram shows tomorrow. I'd really like for this little guy to hang out a little bit longer but we will of course do what ever the doctor believes to be in his best interest. I'll update tomorrow and let you know what the verdict is.

Dinner is Served

Well, I cooked dinner tonight!! Yes, this is very exciting news. It's the first time I've actually prepared a meal in my kitchen in a little over two months. Luckily I didn't forget how to do it. We had chicken fried venison steak, mashed potatoes, homemade gravy, and yellow squash. It was mmm mmmmmm yummy!!!
